This image shows the bridge seen from the exit of the pyramid. In the background the Station of the Cross with the mirrors on the walls, the door to the dining room is open. In front of the left wall there is an organ with a candle on top and more in front the hare. Candles are lit. Thek ordered around 100 candles for the exhibition, electric lights were not used in these exhibition spaces. This images gives a good impression of the space, its darkness and the distance visitors had to transcend. In his interview with Harald Szeemann Thek equate the Sea of Sand with water which can be walked onto, and with time. (Szeemann, 1974). For the work of art © The Estate of George Paul Thek, New York.
