The boat is reproduced in an unfinished state here. The bed of flowers shelterd by the canopy is missing the chalice and other items. However, this images gives another information about the form of the boat. The boat had a rear bench seat and recalls the boat of Charon, the the ferryman of the dead. The souls of the deceased are brought to him by Hermes, and Charon ferries them across the river Acheron. It's another symbol of a trip through life and time.
