The monkey was lent from the Natural Museum of Lucerne. Other stuffed animals included a deer, a swan, a leopard and a hare. According the existing photographs the swan was apparently not used. In another letter Thek writes: "Keep your eyes open for any and all stuffed animals, particularly birds. Seagulls?" (letter to Ammann, March 3, 1973).
